Blessings Await! ¡Las Bendiciones les esperan!

Elders and Sisters:

Greetings.  A quick note about another way of augmenting your learning of the gospel in learning another language.  When our family lived in Seattle, Washington, I liked to walk.  And President Hinckley asked us to read the Book of Mormon in a few months before the end of the year. I would read, walking.  But before long, like in Cobán, our trees, flowers and grass were blessed with water, as was my Book of Mormon.

But reading while exercising helped lessen the monotony.  What to do?  Never fear!  Lamination was here!  I found a laminated copy of my patriarchal blessing and worked on learning that by ponderizing.   In Cobán, since then, I found the laminated copy,
keep it with my mission manual and bring it with me on walks, and when I can't sleep, I review the paragraphs and work to translate it to Spanish.  It is nice to remember God has a plan...and it translates.  It is a good test of the phrases and words I am still weak on and hope to polish.   Maybe you would like to try it!

Our friends in Colombia, with a similar assignment tell us the missionaries there are reciting their mission purpose and section four in their district meetings in Spanish and English.  Have fun learning the gospel in more ways than one!

Blessings await!

No tenga miedo!
