Try not to translate everything what is said
to you, it is a waste of time. It is
better to learn to relate words to images or actions, so you begin to think in
English. Read, read, read in
English! Also, learn to conjugate. Even thought the Book of Mormon uses a more
antiquated form of English, you will be helped by the Spirit, who will help you
to learn. I read the Book of Mormon, a
verse in Spanish, and since I understood what it was saying, read the same
verse in English. I only read one
chapter a day. Although it was only a small amount of time, it helped me very
much with grammar, because the Book of Mormon is written perfectly--you can
trust that everything it says is correct.
For the difficult words, you can ask your companion if the word is
common or only used in antiquated English.
Because we are asked to see videos for training or as part of companionship study of companionship, speeches or movies of the church try to view the movie in Spanish first to understand, then see it in English with subtitles in English so that your brain can relate spoken words with the written ones, it will help you very much.

You have a standing date with a group of people, a chance to know them better, regularly, and you are offering them something that will better their lives, and possibly lead to life eternal!

lea mucho en ingles! así aprenderá a conjugar, aunque el
libro de mormón utiliza un lenguaje mucho más antiguo le ayudara por medio del
espíritu que es quien al final le ayudara a aprender, yo leía el libro de
mormón, un versículo en español y ya que entendía lo que decía leía el mismo
versículo en inglés, solo una capitulo al día a menos que fuera muy pequeño por
el tiempo, me ayudo muchísimo con la gramática porque el libro de mormón está
perfectamente escrito así que pueden confiar en que todo lo que diga está correcto,
para algunas palabras difíciles pueden preguntar a sus compañeros si esa
palabra es común o solo se utilizaba en el inglés antiguo.
Como siempre se nos pide ver videos para entrenamiento o
como parte del estudio de compañerismo, discursos o películas de la iglesia
aproveche y vea la película en español para que primero la entienda luego véala
en ingles con subtítulos en inglés para que su cerebro relacione las palabras
escuchadas con las escritas, le ayudara mucho."
